Students got the opportunity to watch and take part in a music workshop led by Jeff Rich. the former drummer from the rock band Status Quo. Jeff started his workshop with a talk on the history of the humble drum, from its origins in Africa, to the modern drums used by musicians all around the world.

Students and staff eagerly took up the opportunity to go up front and take an active part in the workshop… playing the one of the many different types of drum Jeff and his team had brought along.  Hopefully the workshop encouraged students to take up an instrument, not necessarily percussion, and develop their creativity and teamwork skills by learning to play along with other musicians.  A great time was had by everyone – and on behalf of the staff and students at Moorside, many thanks to Jeff and his team for a highly informative and entertaining day.
